Zumba

In this lesson of Zumba what I had to do is follow the instructions of dancers on videos put up on youtube. Every time a dance was put up on youtube it had to be followed and in the end turned out to be fun.

The level of effort i rate myself is a merit the reason for this is because in my participation I was great, being involved in probably the majority of Zumba dances that was chosen. Examples shown was whenever a dance was put for the class to dance i'd be ready to do it but for some dances it'd be very complicated and hard to keep up with the instructor. But anyway this is why i think i have gotten a merit in this activity.

Well being- Skill level+ Previous experiences-

Well being had a negative effect on my participation because i had never done Zumba before which made me uncomfortable especially doing it in front of my friends. Skill level had a positive effect on my participation because I did so well with the routine or dances that were given and followed instructions. An example was when the class made a decision choosing a dance and we all had to do, as always doing Zumba I followed the instructions and got feedback from friends that I was doing great.

Previous experiences had a negative effect on my participation because it was my first time doing Zumba.

In the future something I can do to increase my participation is just to be confident and let nothing get in the way.

Badmington

In this game of Badmington the class was split up into groups of 2 where we challenged each other in a small tournament. The aim of the game was to try and get points by hitting the shuttlecock over the net landing on the ground. Fortunately my teammate and I came out as the underdogs of the tournament being undefeated.

Level of effort (merit)
why i rate myself a merit is because I felt like my performance was at this level. Demonstrating and being a team player. I started off on a low missing a lot of hits and along the way playing other teams my confedence level rose and I saw a couple of improvements, I was getting better. bouncing back from a low and ending of with a high was good. My teammate did exceptionally well getting many points and I supported him for that. Above all I never really thought i would enjoy it but I did.

3 factors
Equipment+ Fun and enjoyment+ Fitness+
Equipment had a positive effect on my participation because because I had everything i needed to play the game such as PE gear like clothing and sports footwear. I also used the badminton racket and net. Fun and enjoyment had a positive effect on my participation because I really enjoyed the game. it was shown while i was playing like the competition my friends and I had, the awesome spikes and the on going rallies. I never really thought it'd be this fun. Fitness had a positive effect on my participation because I was fit to play, I felt like I had a lot of energy and I managed to keep playing game after game without to getting too tired.

I think that my participation was great and don't really need to do anything to increase it in the future.

Tag

The activity I participated in was tag. In tag the aim was to try and score by placing the ball down in the try zone without my tags being pulled off. In teams off 5 the rules were that if the ball was dropped it would be a hand over to the other team, intercepts were allowed and if i got touch and i passed it it would be a hand over as well.

The level of effort I grade myself is a merit. why? during the activity I had lots of fun because everyone else was enjoying the game. It was a competitive game as well scoring try after try. I supported my team scoring try after try and also playing on defence. On defence i missed a couple of tags but after a while i got better and started getting lots of tags. When my team was struggling i supported them and motivated them to do better like when they would drop the ball i'd say "its alright just do catch next time".

Injury/illness+ Previous experiences+ Fitness+

injury and illness had a positive affect on my participation because even though i had a sore back i managed to pull through the activity. An example was when i felt pain in my back but still i carried on playing tag and would only sub if I had to. Previous experiences had a positive effect on my participation because i had played tag before which had a massive impact on me. Fitness had a positive effect on my participation because I wasn't really getting tired and my stamina was great. I managed to play and only sub of when necessary, to give my team mates a go.

In the future something i can do to increase my participation is just to keep doing what i'm doing because everything is positive and is at its best. doesn't need any improvement.

Volleyball

In today's lesson of volley the aim was to try and strike the ball over the net onto the opponents side and touch the ground to get a point. There were 2 teams and I enjoyed playing.

my level of effort is a merit, why? During the game I helped my teammates and supported them throughout the bad and good times whenever they'd muck up or do well. I also encouraged the other team and tell them to keep there heads up whenever they'd look down on there self which I could see. It showed on their faces and i knew something should've been done. I improved on a lot playing, like setting the ball in the right spot and striking it over the net.

at the end of the lesson I enjoyed playing volley which was great.

3 factors Sense of achievement+/skill level+/environment+

Sense of achievement affected my participation because whenever I kept setting the ball up so my team mate can spike i failed, but every time i tried it i got better and finally became successful. Skill level had a positive impact on my performance because even though i had some down moments where things wouldn't go my way it happens, most the time I performed well. For an example my serves were good and went over the net, most of the blocks i attempted were successful and sets to. Environment had a positive effect because the game was played indoors and the atmosphere surrounded by my friends was great and fun.

In the future something i can do to increase my participation is by keep doing what i'm doing but doing it better by making everything count like spiking more accurately and taking risks, doing things i haven't done before like blocking the spikier with 2 hands and being confident while doing.

Energy systems

Energy systems in basketball...
There are energy systems and within them there are 3, 1 is the atp-pc which last from 0-12, 2 is anaerobic which lasts for 12-2 mins and the last one is aerobic which continues from 2mins onwards
Examples
Free throw - 0-12 secs which is an atp-pc (phosphate)
lay-up - 0-12 secs once again atp-pc (phsophate)
Jump shot - 0-12 secs atp-pc (phsophate)

Fitness Suite circuit

In today's lesson of P.E I had to participate in a fitness circuit where I had to do 3 sets of bicep curls, use the rowing machine, Lunge jumps, Cycling, Russian twists, bur-pees, Medicine ball squats and a agility test. 2 of those sets were for 45 secs and the last set was for 20 secs at each station.

My level of effort I grade myself is a merit. Why? During the time of participating I co'operated in all of the activities from the rowing machine to the agility test. I did them within the given time, and when I had to move from station to station. An example was when I did the Russian twists and once the 45 secs were up, I moved onto the next which was bur-pees. I also helped a friend when he needed it and worked hard during the fitness circuit.

Injury/illness- Challenge+ Fitness+

Injury and illness affected my participation during the fitness circuit because at times when i'd be in the middle of a workout my sickness would get in the way, which would cause me to stop. An example that occurred was when i did bur-pees and in between the set of bur-pees i'd always have a break because my sickness would get to me. Challenge had a positive affect because many of the activities where hard only because I was tired. But during the breaks i regain my energy which allowed me to pull through them all.

Fitness had a positive affect on my participation because I was fit for all of the activities, for an instance when i'd feel tired throughout the workout i'd always pull through it and keep pushing.

In the future something I can do to increase my participation is being healthy and not ill so i can last a lot longer.

Ping pong

In the practical lesson of ping pong what I had to do first and the class was to set up the ping pong tables. In the game of Table tennis also known as (ping pong) the aim of the game is to try and strike the ball over the net towards the opponents just like in tennis.

The level of effort I grade myself is an achieved, Why? because during the time of setting up the equipment to play I would always get distracted and tempted to leave without staying and helping out my classmates. During times I'd help, another reason was because I thought I did well playing the game with my teammate and showing honesty if anything went wrong during the matches. Other then that I thought, during the game I participated well but during the construction of setting up the tables to play I did horrible and for that is why I grade myself an achieved.

Skill level- challenge+ friends/classmates+

First of skill level, it had a negative affect on my participation because at various times i'd come up with a mistake in the game which made me want to quit and stop playing. An example was when i kept missing and not striking the ping pong ball properly. Challenge what so ever had a positive affect on my participation because I felt like the teams were even, mixed up with underrated players. Something that happened during the games I played in was that teams gave me competition, only winning by 1 point in the first 2 games made me want to continue on with the winning streak.

Friends/classmates had a positive affect on my participation because during the time of being in teams of 2 my teammate would pick me up and encourage me to keep playing when I'd always make a mistake. An example was when I kept missing the ball and he'd always say "its alright USO, its alright".

In the future things I can do to increase my participation is by helping construct the tables.

Levers

The 3 parts of levers
1. Effort
2. Fulcrum
3. load

In this activity below what I had to do is identify and match the fulcrum effort and the load. There are 3 classes, class 1 lever has the fulcrum placed between the effort and load. Class 2 lever has the load between the effort and fulcrum. Lastly class 3 has the effort between the load and fulcrum.

Projectile motion

Projectile Motion...
Is when an object referred to as the projectile is thrown. Gravity acts to influence the vertical motion of the projectile causing a vertical acceleration.

The 3 parts of PM...
Height of release
Is when you you apply a great force to the height of release, the further the distance the object travels.

Speed of release...
The greater the speed the greater the height and distance.

Angle of release...
The optimal way to shoot a basketball or any object is 45 degrees.

The activity this morning i participated in relating to Projectile motion was when the class was given a rubber ban and a piece of paper. What we all had to do is find the best possible way to flick a rubber ban as far as we could. The activity was a success and we all had great fun.

200 challenge

Today in PE I participated in an activity where we were in groups of 2 and had to do a number of 200 squats, ab crunches and 20 runs.

The level of effort I rate myself is a merit because I felt like a gave it my best. I encouraged and motivated my partner to push through the activities because at times he felt like giving up, for an example when he was doing the ab crunches he only had to do 5 more and was already tired then but he came through. During the course I had a lot of fun and never gave up. I pushed through the activity accomplishing the 200 squats, ab crunches and 20 runs.

3 factors Challenge+ Friends/Classmates+ fitness-

Challenge had a positive effect on my participation because it was hard trying to complete this 200 challenge which I liked because I always love a challenge. I felt tired after doing 100 ab crunches but still I pushed and at the end of the session my partner and I completed the challenge. Friends and classmates had a positive effect on my participation because the support of my partner and friends made me want to keep going and so i did, an example was when I got tired but my partner said for me to keep pushing. Another was when i was doing great and my friends said "keep up the good work Ivan".

Fitness had a negative effect on my participation because for parts of the 200 challenge I felt like I couldn't complete it because of being so tired and unfit but still my partner and I came through and completed it.

In the future something I can do to increase my participation is too ask even though I'm tired if my team mates wants me to do part of his work for him like doing more runs or squats etc.

Kiorahi

A large team game played between 2 teams, kioma and taniwha on a large circular field. Played for 4 quarters or 2 halves of a set time, teams alternate roles of KÄ«oma and Taniwha at half or quarter time. KÄ«oma score by touching Pou/s with the KÄ« (for potential points) then running the KÄ« through Te Roto and placing it down in Pawero to convert pou touches into points. KÄ«oma stop the other team, Taniwha.
Taniwha score by hitting the Tupu with the KÄ«. KÄ«oma will have Kaitiaki (guardians) around the Tupu to stop Taniwha from hitting the Tupu. Depending on which variation is being played, Taniwha must stop KÄ«oma from scoring by either touching, 2 handed touch, ripping the tag or tackling them in the appropriate area.
The level of effort I rate myself is an achieved, reasons for this is because my performance was really poor due to the fact that I was cold and the ground was muddy so it was hard to maintain grip. But throughout the time playing I got better. Before I got better I was not showing rise values throughout the game because I was cheating and this why I rate myself an achieved because I bounced back from that and did well. During the end when I bounced back from my mistakes I defended my opponents and scored points.

Equipment- fun and enjoyment+ fitness-

Equipment had a negative effect on my participation because I did not treat it with respect, an example was me hitting the brand new pou's and it almost broke. Moving on fun and enjoyment had a positive effect on the game I enjoyed it a lot, reasons for this was because I was playing as a team member sharing the ball, I thought my performance was great and so was others. Fitness had a negative effect, signs that showed this was when I was kind of lazy on defence and when I couldn't be bothered chasing.

Things I can do in the future to increase my participation is to reduce my stamina so I do not get tired while playing. Another one is trying to play to the best of my ability and lastly playing fair according to the rules.

Ultimate Frisbee

In this game of ultimate, the aim was to try and score with a completed catch in my opponents End zone. In teams of 5 the rules were that if i'd drop the frisbee or miss the catch and goes out it would be a turnover. Another rule was that no one can run with the frisbee and if so like i said earlier it'll be a turn over.

The level of effort i rate myself is an achieved reasons for this is because 1, My attitude for the game was not as bright as usually 2, I complained about playing outside in the cold/windy whether and 3 I feel like my performance was not as good as i could've been. This is why i feel like my level of effort is an achieved.

3 factors Equipment+ fun and enjoyment- fitness+

I felt like todays participation went really well, first of equipment i contributed well with helping pack up, I had all the right equipment to participate in the game and had everything I needed including a frisbee/band/team. fun and enjoyment, I enjoyed the game but the only thing that stopped me from enjoying it as much as i could've was the whether. The reason for this is, it was cold and windy and playing in these conditions makes it hard to cope but I still managed to pull through in the end.

My fitness in this game was great, didn't really tire out and got better and better throughout the time.

In the future something positive I can do is probably not moan and just play the game. Another is to have fun while playing and move around a lot more so I can get a goal in the End zone or goal assists.

muscular system

What are 3 types of muscles in the Human body?
1. Cardiac
This is a heart (involuntary) muscle that beats continuously.
2. Skeletal
This is connected to the skeleton to form part of the mechanical system which moves the limbs and other parts of the body.
3. Smooth

A Muscle tissue.

The agonist and antagonist muscles?
these muscles occur in pairs as one muscle contracts the other relaxes, an example is the tricep and bicep when lifting dumbells movement is elbow flexion. the antagonist is the muscle extending which is the tricep and the agonist is the muscle contracting which is bicep.

In this activity what we did was labelling the skeletal and muscular system.

Soft Ball

In this game of soft ball I participated in the aim to score is to try and strike the ball as far as I could and get a home run. if the ball was caught then it's an out, 3 outs then both teams switched over. If the batter strikes the ball and a fielder picks it up and throws it to base 1 the batter is out an this is what happened during the game.

The level of effort i rate my performance is an achieved. The reasons for that is because I didn't really enjoy the sport, my performance was not the best and i should've done better and it wasn't very entertaining. I think the reason I grade myself the achieved was because even though I had a lot of negatives I still fought through them, I participated even though i didn't want to and at the end of the day the game ended up not so bad and i kind of enjoyed it.

Equipment+ fun and enjoyment- fitness+

Equipment like always had a positive effect on my participation because we had what we needed to play the game like a bat, ball, basses and a team. Everyone had gears to play and it was cool. Fun and enjoyment had a negative effect on my participation because i didn't like the sport. In past experiences i did not play well and because of that i did not like it. But after a while i started getting use to it and had fun in the end. Fitness was another positive on my participation because I lasted the whole game and in between had rests.

In the future something I can do to get more involved in the game is to try and have fun and play even though i don't want to. Something my friends can do as well is coming and turning up to P.E classes so it can be a lot more enjoyable with heaps of numbers. Another thing i can do is ask to pitch the ball, be a back stop or a 1st base catcher to increase my participation next time I play.

Bench Ball

In P.E today I played a game called bench ball the aim was to try and get at least for people on a your opponents bench without getting touched. If someone did not get touch and made the bench then in order for another team member to get onto the bench was to throw a ball. If the catch is made then another person can try and get to the bench without getting touched. The game was fun and everyone was enjoying it.

The level of effort i grade myself is a merit because I was playing according to the rules of the game. I had lots of fun getting many points for my team, defending my opponents so they don't throw the ball or get to the bench and also helping my team mates get to the bench by throwing the ball and making the catch. I did my best to play the game and next time to we ever play it to make it a lot more enjoyable we can have many more throwing balls and a competition.

3 factors Equipment+ fun and enjoyment+ Fitness-

Equipment had a positive effect on my participation because we had everything we needed to play the game Bench ball. Fun and enjoyment also had a positive effect because the game was enjoyable, everyone participated while playing to the music which hyped up the game. The game was competitive and I like competitive games because it pushes me to where i should be playing to my best which i was. Fitness was the only thing that had a negative effect because i couldn't really last the whole game without having a rest.

In the future something i can do to increase my participation is working on my fitness like my stamina so i can last the whole game without getting tired easily. Another is supporting my team mates even if they look like their struggling and helping them.

Skeletal System

Roles of the skeletal system
The human body consists of 206 bones and the role of them all is to help support, movement, protection, calcium storage that enable us to survive.

The image shown above was made out of equipment found in a P.e shed. what my group and i had to do is make a skeletal system and label it, I found this lesson very productive and fun and enjoyed it a lot.

Futsal Soccer

Futsal soccer
Today in P.e i participated in Futsal soccer which the aim of the game is to try and kick the ball in towards the goal. Their where 5 people on field and the rest on sub, rules where not to hand ball while in possession of play which also refers to defence as well and that was it.

I felt like I participated at the level of merit because i met the criteria of the game playing to the best of my ability like defending attacking. I shared the ball, dribbled the ball myself and had a couple of goal assists as well which was for attack. But on defence I stopped a people from getting pass me saved goals and pressured them.

3 factors that influenced my participation equipment + fun and enjoyment + fitness +

Equipment had a positive effect on my participation during futsal soccer because we had everything we needed to play the sport. I had fun during the game we played because it was intense, I was playing to the best of my potential which hyped everyone and because we had positive vibes. My fitness level was excellent and stamina because I managed to last the whole P.E lesson not being tired out.

In the future something i can do to increase my participation is just helping setting up and packing away the equipment when needed because only a few people help out the teacher while the rest run away including me. So next time i'll know what to do.

Wednesday 12 April 2017

Spike Ball

In this event i participated in the aim to score was to try and hit the ball as hard as you can and rebound it off a net onto the ground. If the opponent caught the ball the point wouldn't count and so the game continues on until someone scores. We were in teams of 3 and the game was not enjoyable but average (fun).

The level i thought i played at was achieved because i wasn't playing to the best of my ability, I thought i was. I wasn't enjoying it that much as i thought i was. I just wasn't familiar with the sport, i still played it though i passed the ball throughout my team, I got a couple of goals for the team and I also defended my opponents to stop them from scoring. Next time I play this game i can do better because of my previous experiences, and so can my team mates. They did well helping me and getting points.

3 factors that influenced my participation was Equipment+ Fun and enjoyment- fitness+

Equipment had a positive effect on my participation because like always we had everything we needed to play the game. Fun and enjoyment had a negative effect on my participation because I wasn't familiar with the game I only just learnt how to play it, which sucked. My fitness level in this game played a small part in my participation because as soon as a team won we have a break in between setting up the game again which is what i needed.

In the future something i can do to increase my participation is too help out my team mates when they need it, get many more points by moving around and also catching the ball.

Monday 10 April 2017

Chop sticks

Today I played modified game of hockey which was similar to capture the flag. So basically I was in a team of 6 and the aim of the game was to try and capture the puck from my opponents and take it back to my side. The objective was to have 4 pucks on my side of the half then the games is won which was what my team did. It was fun and everyone really enjoyed apart from me.

I thought that i met the criteria of the game because I played to the best I can guarding my opponents so they don't take the pucks, attacking my opponents side of the half getting their pucks and just being involved helping out my team mates. I really thought i played well and had lots of fun and so i grade myself an achieved.

Factors that influenced me while my i was participating, Fun and enjoyment-, Fitness+ and equipment+. Fun and enjoyment had a negative effect on my participation because it was a sport that i wasn't familiar with, I didn't like the sport itself and because i wasn't good at it. Fitness and equipment had positive effects on my participation because we had everything we needed to play the sport including the numbers. My fitness played a big part in this sport because it was tiring running up and down the pitch but I managed it.

In the future something i can do to increase my participation is too try and cope with not liking the game to liking the game, basically changing my attitude and coping with it. Have fun.

Thoughts about blogging

Blogging

My previous experiences with blogging...
I've Blogged before now and then, during my primary days but now since I'm grown up I've forgotten how to. My experience, I really don't have one, and i never enjoyed it but it's life

How Blogging impacts my learning...
Blogging today has a massive impact because people post up things that they've learnt and it can help those who need information, they can look up others post. It impacts my learning because it helps me store memories and after a couple years, I can come back to it and see what I've done in my college days.

What I enjoy about it...
There's really nothing i enjoy about blogging to be honest, it's really not my thing. probably the only part
I enjoy is posting my work seeing what I've done and the aftermath of it being published.

What is Self management...
It's when you're well organised and taking responsibility of your behaviour and own well being. An example of being self managed is doing the right thing and task when people are around you or not.

Self management to me is...
What I think about this is, just having many responsibilities along the way in life, like having to take care of your belongings. An example is children, work and money. All these things have to do with being self managed.

Whys it important...
It helps you to become a better person, you may not feel like, but others will see it. Have the ability to change when you're in a bad mood and have a negative mindset. So that you can feel happy and be in a positive mood.
